Top Ten Tuesday 11.22.11

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted over at The Broke and the Bookish. This week's Top Ten is Top Ten Authors I Want At My Thanksgiving Dinner.

So, it didn't say we couldn't include dead authors, so I'm having at it. Mostly because the majority of my list will probably be dead folks.

  1. Oscar Wilde - Wit, thy name is Oscar. Guaranteed not to be a dull party with Mr. Wilde at attendance.
  2. Natalie Clifford Barney - The woman hosted a salon in Paris for 60 years, for Bob's sake!
  3. Virginia Woolf
  4. J.K. Rowling -  Can't leave out Queen Rowling!
  5. Anne Brontë - Ok, so I made myself only pick one Brontë, and I picked Anne. Charlotte and Emily might make me feel a bit intimated, not to mention Emily would be rather gloomy. I imagine Anne would be much more lively and talkative.
  6. Margaret Atwood
  7. Christina Rossetti
  8. E.M. Forster
  9. Sylvia Plath
  10. Angela Carter
The ones without descriptions all have the same reason: they'd make for good conversation. And that's what I want.

Oscar would definitely keep things lively. Christin Rossetti is a very interesting selection!

Great list!! I love the classics, so it's great to see that you have a bunch of their authors on your list. :)

I love how so many people have included JK Rowling on their lists. She's definitely made her mark!
