Armchair BEA: Who I Am

I know this post is up late, but I've been having a lousy day. At least I got it in before midnight!

Today's Armchair BEA Daily Topic is: Who are you, and how do you Armchair?

Who am I? I am Christy. I'm 26 and am a New Englander living in Texas. I am way out of my element down here. Other than reading, I'm an amateur writer - I participate in NaNoWriMo every year. I'm a big history buff - I love to learn. When I'm not doing either of those two things, I'm either dabbling in genealogy or keeping up with any of the Boston sports teams (go Bruins, go Sox).

I've loved to read since I was little. I was the first born, so my mom spent a lot of time reading to me, so I learned early. My favorite book genre is historical fiction, but I hesitate to call this a historical fiction blog because I don't want to limit myself. I also love reading biographies, history books, and the classics.

I love my Sony Pocket Reader and am always using it. However, I'll never abandon physical books. In fact, I'm usually reading one of each at the same time: one ebook, one physical book.

So, that's my attempt at an intro post. I look forward to visiting a bunch of new blogs this week!

I love your layout! That header is gorgeous! I guess it's been awhile since I visited...sorry. =O/ I have been following you for some time. I looked back at your follower widget and I was one of your first 22 followers. Anyway, we have a lot in common, except age! *L* I too love history and historical fiction and I also pull up short from declaring my blog a "historical" blog because I do enjoy other genres. Historical is just more prominent in my reading. Anyway, glad you're joining the fun this week. I'll be sure to stop by again!

I think we might be related! Many common interests here - New England, Red Sox, Bruins, Classics, Writing. Are there better things in the world than those?
